His podium presentation, Attempted Cessation of VEGF Inhibitors for Retinal Vein Occlusion, examined data from the Fight Retinal Blindness! registry on what happens when patients with RVO attempt to stop injection therapy.
This is a question that arises frequently in clinical practice: patients who have been receiving regular injections for months or years naturally want to know whether — and when — treatment can stop.
What this means for patients: For patients with retinal vein occlusion who have been on injections for an extended period, one of the most common questions is “can I stop?” This research looked at what the real-world data shows — how often cessation is attempted, how often it succeeds, and what happens when disease activity returns.
